Franklin - The Borderline, London

Franklin

It's been a while since I've seen these boyos, and not only does Seb have a new hairdo... They have totally grown up! A sorta cool rock outfit now, in a jam packed London venue....

We arrived as the Franklin trio were on stage, and it was SO rammed that we couldn't even make it down the stairs... fine by us as we are both (myself and Amy) total midgets and it gave us the best view in the house.. spesh for me wanting to take some great videos (see below!)

Quote of the night has to go to Amy with:

'I really like sebs face'

When he's drumming she meant - as he was so into it... New groupie? Who knows...

I noticed a fair few head bangers in the audience.. I'll be honest.. Guilty of the head-banging here too! The vibe was HOT - literally and metaphorically, never have I seen a room as attentive and full, with all ages young and old in a large, yet intimate venue.

Highlights of the show have to include: Alex's voice... please don't pass out on us on stage though yeah?! Seb's concentration face, and of course Brandon's need for shorts... Their final song (apparently their favourite to perform) 'Drain' had to be my fave song of the set!

Special thanks to Amy Henderson for providing the impromptu interview backstage at the gig....

Hear more of their stuff here:

And. I've gotta say, they totally outdid The Hoosiers IMHO. No offence to The Hoosiers or anything, they're legends and they still got it, but, I'm much more looking forward to hearing new stuff from the Franklin boys..

Hopefully I'll be able to drag them onto my radio show very soon! Maybe during the holidays when they're not at college... Wait, wha??? (yep they're young 'uns!)

Stay Tuned.

Nick Brewer // The Bulletproof Bomb // TATE

So. This is how my week went.... It wasn't all plain sailing and smooth running... But I enjoyed it!

NICK BREWER 13.10.15

I had the pleasure of interviewing Nick Brewer before his BIGGEST headline show at the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen (that's why it looks like we are in a canteen together appaz - canteen is so American anyway...) And we spoke about his track 'Miss Online Superstar', which now makes me self conscious about the likes I get on my instas (lucky if I even get 11), his recent MOBO Award nomination (go vote for him - Best Newcomer, I have!) And my Tip of the Week - 'Talk to Me' Ft. Frisco the Rude Kid Remix, his Tip of the Week #GetYourTipsOut oioi, and looooads more!

He also picked my #3Rs for me, in honour of the 3 R's of MEATtransMISSION: #Raucous, #Relentless & #Rowdy in the form of The Wu Tang Clan 'Bring Da Ruckus', Eminem 'Role Model' & Tempa T 'Next Hype'. And yes. As you can imagine, it took me a while to make these radio friendly.

SO. This was filmed and will be up shoooooortly on the brand spankin new YouTube channel for MEATtransMISSION TV. But you will have to wait for that. You will also have to wait to hear the interview on my show until next week... But don't worry, I'll keep you all posted...

Guvna B, Frisco, Adee Ajayi, Shakka and Naomi Scott were all there showing support that evening, joining Nick on Stage. AND NB also took the time out for a poem straight from his poetry book, this guy sure knows how to bring light and shade to a performance #Amen.

As everyone must know, a new find for me is a winwinwin - Adee Ajayi's voice was stunnnning.

HIGHLIGHTS for me had to be 'Fall from Here' sung with Naomi Scott, Frisco getting up for 'Talk to Me' and of courseeeee 'I'm a Pro' with Shakka! It went OFF.

Hat's off to you Mr Brewer, you put on a damn good show!!!

THE BULLETPROOF BOMB 15.10.15

I got to interview Tom from the Bulletproof Bomb not so long ago... and Thursday I was able to meet the whole band!!

They did NOT disappoint.... If I recommend you go see anyone live it absolutely has to be these boys. They are just ace. And they played at the Ace Hotel. Nuff said.

Actually, almost nuff said......... Highlight of the evening had to be them singing their heart out to the row of seated audience 'LIFE IS SO F*CKING BORING' - we were raving in the back... shoulda kicked out the seats! Lazy bastads....

TATE 16.10.15

SO! The last time I saw Tate was very early in the morning... at The Secret Garden Party. On Secret FM. And I was wearing my giraffe onesie for the third day in a row....

This time was in the comfort (and warmth) of the MEATtransMISSION studio!

Despite some technical issues, and being off air for the majority of the show... Tate was able to swoop in and save the day with his guitar and Jaguar prowess, blowing us away with his cover of 'Hit the Road Jack' and a couple of his own tunes!

The full show with interview and session will be up soon on the MEATtransMISSION mixcloud, but in the meantime - here's a clip and a message from Tate himself!

Today TATE joined Jess Iszatt in the studio... And defied all technical issues Thanks for joining us Tate!

Check him out hereee: thelifeoftate.com

In between all that jazz, I got a pic like a right tourist with Katy B, Tinie Tempa & Shakka. Oh yeah, and a hugging lesson with Shakka. I scored him a 10/10 - which was a panic score, really it was an 8, but I was being polite.... I digress... Here are the photossss...
