It's that time of the week again for me to get my tips out... yahoooo
So, if you're musically uneducated like my brother, you might not have heard of her before... on the other hand, if you're into your fashion you may have brushed past her donning a Burberry bag. Or full blown outfit seeing as not only is she a ridonculouslyyy talented artist, she's also a Burberry model. Not jealous at all.
Marika very much reminds me of indie-folk band Daughter (a huuuuuuge favourite of mine), so if you like them, then you will be a big fan of the Hackman - WHO by the way, I just found out... self taught herself how to play all the instruments you hear on her tracks. Again, not jealous at all of her ridiculous creativityness.
SO. Marika Hackman has released justtt 3 days ago an absolute stunner of a track which is simultaneously uplifting and depressing - pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything you look for in a great song. Layers and layers of light and shade which ultimately come together to form an amalgamation of lovely sadness....
Tip of the Week this weeeek is: Marika Hackman - 'Drown'
As the first glimpse of her forthcoming debut album, 'We Slept At Last', Marika really has left us in eager anticipation.. However we won't be able to get our ears on that until February 16th, 2015. Can't decide whether I am/am not looking forward to listening to this post Valentines day..
'We Slept At Last' will be released Feb 16th, 2015.
'Drown' will be released on Dec 8th, 2014.
